No. 50 N.C. State Defeats Monarch Men's Tennis, 5-2

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team fell to No. 50 N.C. State, 5-2, on the courts at Center Court Racket Club in Newport News, Virginia.

The victory kept the Wolfpack undefeated at 8-0, while the Monarchs dropped their fourth straight and fell to 6-4 overall. Old Dominion will take on #67 William & Mary on Sunday. The Tribe are the defending CAA champions.

Old Dominion's two points came from junior Henrique Cancado at No. 2 singles and No. 90 Eidy Igarashi at No. 3 singles. Cancado defeated Val Banada in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, while Igarashi came back from a first set loss to edge out Andre Iriarte, 6-7, 7-6 (10-6).
