Comments from Coach Wilder:
On today’s practice:
“Today was much better. They came out with full energy, good enthusiasm and ready to practice. We have installed a lot more now on offense and defense, there is a lot of thinking and processing of information, but I thought there was a real commitment today and focus level to improve and we did as a football team.”
On the defensive line:
“That group is much improved and I think the biggest thing is they have had a full year to work with Coach Comissiong. They have a better understanding of what he is teaching and talking about and we are bigger there. We have gotten bigger, we’ve gotten stronger and there were so many young faces there last year playing. We are much improved. The biggest thing that I look at with that group is the competition there, we are three deep at every position and there is competition to try and get on the field.”
On camp so far:
“I have been very impressed so far. The biggest thing I wanted to see was the development of our twos, threes and fours. This roster is the strongest we have ever been from 51 on through the rest of the roster. We have always had a core group of about 50 guys, but now we have guys from 51 to 105 that are competing and making us better which makes practice more competitive. When we go to special teams and scout teams, that is more competitive, because the guys on the scout team are much better football players. I have been very impressed with the development up to this point.”
