Women's Tennis Battles, Falls to No. 72 Marshall, 5-1

RICHMOND, Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis fell to Marshall 5-1 Sunday evening in Richmond.

Marshall won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point but junior Diana Ivanova got ODU on the board with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Dominika Zapranza at No. 1 singles.

That was the only victory of the day for ODU, however, there were several close matches on the day. Maria Voscekova eked out a 7-5, 7-5 win over Aleksandra Mitrovska at the No. 2 spot while Ellie Ball won a tight 6-4, 6-3 match at No. 3.

Juliana Pires lost a tough three-setter to Kai Broomfield, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.

The Lady Monarchs are back in action Friday, April 6 when they host William and Mary at 3 p.m.
