Van Rooyen, along with sophomore Nataly Cahana (Quiriat Bialik, Israel) and senior Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia) headline Old Dominion's entries in the main draw of the singles competition. Last year at the event Cahana captured the singles title while Radeljevic advanced to the quarterfinal round.

In the doubles main draw, the team of Cahana and Radeljevic will challenge for the title.

Finalists will go on to represent the region at the 2001 Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships held Nov. 8-11 at the Brookhaven Country Club, located just outside of Dallas, in Farmers Branch, Texas.

The Omni Hotels Regional Championship, the nation's premier collegiate indoor tennis tournament, dates back to 1981 and has previously been known as the Rolex Regional Champions and the ITA Regional Championships. This event is the second of three national collegiate tennis championships held during the season. The first, the Riviera Women's All-American Championships took place a few weeks ago and the third are the year-end NCAA Championships.

At the Riviera All-American, Cahana, seeded fourth advanced to the finals, losing to Jessica Lehnhoff of Florida, 6-2,6-0.
