Lady Monarchs Fall To Virginia Tech 5-2

Blacksburg, Va. - The Lady Monarchs' women's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match on Saturday, falling 5-2 to host Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. The Hokies improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Lady Monarchs fell to 5-2.

Charleen Harrhoff and Nadine Fahoum defeated Virginia Tech's Jessica Brouwer and Yasmin Hamza 8-6 at No. 1 doubles, but the Hokies won the final two matches to capture the doubles point.

In singles action it was Fahoum and Joanna Dobrowolska who accounted for both of the Lady Monarchs' points on the day. Playing at No. 4, Fahoum came from behind to defeat Brouwer 4-6, 6-0, 6-4, while at No. 5 Dobrowolska downed Abbey Walker 6-2, 6-2.
