Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's tennis team suffered its first conference loss of the season, falling to 21st ranked William & Mary 7-0 at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon. With the loss the Lady Monarchs fell to 10-7, 2-1 in the CAA, while the visiting Tribe improved to 13-8, 2-0 in league play.

William & Mary began the day by capturing the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2, although the ODU duo of Barbara Costa and Jana Kubicikova won 9-8 over the Tribe tandem of Carmen Pop and Lauren Sabacinski at No. 3.

The Lady Monarchs had a rough time in singles action as well, dropping all six matches in straight sets. Playing at No. 1 for the first time this season Lady Monarch freshman Nadine Fahoum put up a fight before eventually falling to Megan Moulton-Levy, the ninth ranked player in the country, 6-3, 6-2. William & Mary's other ranked player, Ragini Acharya, also proved to be too much for ODU's Joanna Dobrowolska whom she defeated 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 position.

ODU returns to the courts this Saturday when the Lady Monarchs host Queens (N.C.) at 10 a.m. and Longwood at 4 p.m.
