Endlich, Costa, Luiz Earn Women's Tennis All-CAA Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Kerstin Endlich (Neustadt, Germany ), freshman Barbara Costa (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), and sophomore Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil) earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors it was announced tonight at the CAA banquet on the eve of the Lady Monarchs' in the CAA Tournament at Huntington Park in Newport News.

Endlich, who after two straight seasons on the All-CAA Second Team, makes her first appearance on the CAA singles First Team after taking over the top ODU singles player. Endlich played her way to an 11-16 overall mark and 8-13 dual meet record as the Lady Monarchs took on seven ranked teams in 2005, including #5 Duke, #18 William and Mary, and #56 Virginia Commonwealth. Additionally, she made an appearance in the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational final in the fall.

Endlich and Luiz earned All-CAA Second Team honors in doubles. The Lady Monarch duo earned a 15-10 overall mark and a 12-8 dual meet record playing at the top doubles spot. Together they picked up CAA wins over UNC-Wilmington and George Mason.

Costa makes her first appearance on an all-conference team earning All-CAA honors for her singles play. Costa holds a 17-13 overall mark and an 11-12 dual meeting record having played at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles throughout the spring. In fall tournament play, she won the Flight B singles title at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational in September and reach the finals of the Flight B-2 singles bracket in the October invitational.

William & Mary sophomore Megan Moulton-Levy was selected as 2005 Colonial Athletic Association women's tennis Player of the Year by a committee of the league's head coaches. Others receiving top honors from the conference include Virginia Commonwealth freshman Marianna Yuferova as the CAA Rookie of the Year and William and Mary's Kevin Epley as the CAA Coach of the Year.
