Cahana Earns National Honor

Princeton, NJ - Old Dominion freshman Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) was named the National Player to Watch, as announced recently by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) over the weekend.
Cahana, who was also named the East Region's Player to Watch and Rookie of the Year, collected an impressive 46-3 record this season, setting a school record form most singles wins. She finished the dual match season with a perfect 23-0 record and capturd the Colonial Athletic Association's Player and Rookie of the Year honors en route to a #5 national ranking.
The award is given to a highly-ranked non-senior player who has had an outstanding season, but not yet won an ITA Grand Slam event in singles.
Cahana and junior Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia) will represent Old Dominion in the 64-player singles field at the national championships in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The doubles tandem will also participate in the 32-team doubles draw. The national championships will run this week.
