TUCSON, AZ. – Old Dominion University freshman outfielder Nick Walker (Virginia Beach, VA.) has been named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American Baseball team, as announced by the publication today.  Walker becomes the 15th Monarch freshman to earn All-American honors.

Walker, who played in the outfield as well as second base, was the only freshman to be named first team All-Conference USA. He led the Monarchs in batting (.309) and stolen bases (16), adding 11 doubles, four home runs and 26 RBI. Walker also drew a team-best 25 walks to give him a .393 on-base percentage. Walker had 16-multiple hit games and a 20-game hitting streak. He reached base 23 straight games during the season and finished the season with a .438 slugging percentage. Walker, who scored 43 runs this season in helping ODU to its first NCAA Regional since 2000, also earned a spot on the C-USA All-Tournament team.

Walker was joined on the All-American team by fellow C-USA newcomers, FIU RHP Chris Mourelle, the C-USA Freshman of the Year, and by Florida Atlantic 2B Stephen Kerr.
