NORFOLK, VA--Junior righthander Jason Godin (Stafford, VA) picked up Lousville Slugger National Player of the Week honors, while senior righthander Kevin Gunter (Richland, NJ) took home CAA Pitcher of the Week honors this weekend for the 8-1 Old Dominion Monarchs.

In a complete game 11-4 victory over visiting Navy last Saturday, Godin tied the Monarch record for most strikeouts in a game as he fanned 17 without yielding a walk. Gunter picked up his honor as he tossed a complete game seven-hitter to lead the Monarchs past Virginia 5-1 two Wednesdays ago. He struck out five and walked only two during the mound effort.

ODU hosts Rutgers in a three-game set beginning Friday February 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex. Gunter will start Friday, and Godin will take the hill on Saturday
