Baseball: Monarchs Fall to Clemson, 5-0

CLEMSON, SC (Feb. 18)-- Scott Berney pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Tigers of Clemson to a 5-0 win over the Monarchs Friday afternoon. ODU is now 2-3-1, Clemson improves to 3-1.

Junior all-American candidate Tim Hummel led ODU with two hits in three at bats,including a double.

Berney walked no one and fanned 11 for Clemson, while Jeff Baker and Brian Ellis each had two hits. Ellis knocked in two runs for the Tigers. The two teams play game two of the three game series on Saturday at 3 p.m.
