NORFOLK, VA-- Senior Dana Arrowood had three hits and two runs batted in to lead #20/21 Old Dominion (34-6) to an 8-2 victory over Norfolk State (18-21) Wednesday night at Marty Miller Field.

Arrowood singled in Mike Zahm in the first and doubled home Bryan Cipolla in the eighth. Jimmy Miles and Bryan Cipolla each had two hits on the evening, and Keith Hahn scored three times.

Hahn scored in the fourth on Miles double, he then scored in the fifth on a wild pitch and in the seventh came home on Stephen Dorst's single.

Senior lefthander Bryan Hansen picked up the win. He scattered five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Freshman Anthony Shawler pitched the the last three-plus innings with five strikeouts and and one run allowed.

NSU scored in the sixth as pinch hitter Christopher Dorney walked with the bases loaded to bring home Jose Torres. In the eighth pinchhitter Carlos DeJesus singled home Moriba George.

The Monarchs return to CAA action this weekend at the University of Delaware. Friday's game begins at 3 p.m.at Hannah Stadium.
