Ben Verlander Named CAA Player Of the Week

NORFOLK, VA-- ODU junior rightfielder Ben Verlander has been named CAA Player of the Week for the third time this season. Verlander hit .438 wiht a homer, four runs scored and five RBI's in ODU's 3-1 week which included a three-game CAA sweep at James Madison.

The junior was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and his CAA leading ninth homer in ODU's 7-4 win over the Dukes and went 3-for-5 again with a triple and four RBI's in the Monarchs 14-2 victory at JMU.

Verlander is currently ranked fifth in the CAA in hitting at .402, tied for fourth in the league with three triples and 77 total bases. He leads the CAA in slugging percentage at .794.

ODU hosts Richmond Tuesday night at 6:05 p.m.
