NORFOLK, VA. - Junior righthander Donnie Smith (Portsmouth, VA.) was named Co-Pitcher of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association. It is the second straight week for the I.C. Norcom High School graduate and the third time this season. He shares this week's honor with George Mason's Stacen Gant who shutout VCU.

Smith threw his second straight complete game, a one-hitter with ten strikeouts in ODU's 2-0 victory over William and Mary Saturday. He gave up a one out double in the first inning and faced just 30 batters. Smith walked two only two to run his record to 5-2 on the season. Smith currently ranks third in the CAA in earned run average at 2.15 and third in strikeouts at with 82 in just 67 innings pitched.

The one-hitter is the 18th in ODU history, but the first since 1995 when Maika Symmonds one-hit Richmond in the CAA Tournament.
