Monarchs Host Delaware State Wednesday Afternoon

NORFOLK,VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs (3-0) play host to the Delaware State Hornets Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Bud Metheny Complex.

ODU's probable starting pitcher will be freshman righthander Dexter Carter (Murfreesboro, NC.).

Through three games Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, VA.)leads the Monarchs with a .545 batting average. He has scored six times, while Mike Zaham (Omaha, NE.) is hitting .538 and leads the team with eight runs batted in. As a team, ODU is hitting .370.

Dan Hudson (Virginia Beach, VA.), Ryan Bergh (Reddick, FL.) and Anthony Shawler (Chesapeake, VA.) are 1-0 and ODU's team ERA is 2.00.

Jim Johnson leads the Hornets with a .300 batting average. DSU lost their opening three games at Charleston Southern.

ODU travels to Myrtle Beach to play in Coastal Carolina tournament against Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Coastal Carolina.
