The 2010 ONFilm Festival begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, and includes four days of faculty-led discussions of shorts, documentaries, foreign films, and mainstream movies - both popular and classic. With 26 screenings in all, there is something for everyone!

Come out Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. for the Opening Kickoff event in the University Theatre - Join special guests ODU baseball coach Jerry Meyers and Rip Tide from The Norfolk Tides at a reception, followed by a screening of the movie, "Field of Dreams," and register for a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to an upcoming game of The Norfolk Tides.

Among the 10 films to be screened on Thursday, March 25, is the cinematic debut of "Strangers in Paradise," a documentary written and produced by ODU graduate student, Rachel Hunter.

Don't miss "Tailgating and a Movie" starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 26 - Meet former Notre Dame football player Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith, Monarch football coach Bobby Wilder and ODU's mascot Big Blue at a tailgate-style reception on the Field Pass Terrace at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. 102.1FM's "The Game" sports talk radio show will be broadcasting live from the tailgate reception! The tailgate will be followed by a screening of the movie, "Rudy," shown on the stadium's giant electronic digital scoreboard and viewed from the loge seats of the Ainslie Game Day building. Attendees are also eligible to enter a raffle to win ODU Fan Packs. Tickets for this event are $10 for the general public but are FREE for ODU students, faculty and staff. Go to the Arts & Letters box office, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, in University Theatre to pick up your FREE ticket.

The festival concludes on Saturday, March 27, with the Virginia Production Alliance Career Fair, the Hampton Roads Film panel discussion, and the presentation of the Dr. Stephen E. Konikoff Student Filmmakers Award, along with three final movie screenings.

And the fun doesn't end there! During the festival and through March 28 (unless noted otherwise), the Ghent Business Association is offering special discounts for festival patrons when you bring your program to their participating businesses. For a full list, check out the ODU News story at
