NORFOLK, VA - The Old Dominion baseball team fell to the Princeton Tigers, 9-5, Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex. The Monarchs drop to 6-9 for the season, while Princeton remains perfect, improving to 3-0. The Tigers swept the three-game series.

Pinch-hitter Joe Moore (Woodbridge, VA) and first baseman Bryan Cippola (Plainview, NY) both also batted in runs for ODU. Justin Gregula (Washington, PA), who pinch-hit for the game, scored the other Monarch run after a balk was called on the Princeton pitcher.
ODU held a 2-1 lead going into the top of the eighth, before the Tigers belted out three runs to grab a 4-2 lead. Going into the top of the ninth, Princeton still held onto a 4-2 lead before scoring five more to increase their lead to 9-2. In the bottom of the ninth, the Monarchs attempted a rally, scoring three runs, but it would not be enough as Princeton took the 9-5 victory.
