The Dolphins scored twice in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead as third baseman Jack Kennedy singled and and advanced to second when left fielder Mike Pecchia's grounder was overthrown by Monarch third baseman Jeff Eure. Second baseman Sam Parkins then singled to score Kennedy and Pecchia.
The Monarchs fought back with a run in the fourth as Eure lead off with a double and later scored on a Joe Troilo grounder. With the score, 2-1, Le Moyne scored another three runs in the top half of the sixth to take a comanding 5-1 lead.
But in the bottom of the eighth, Old Dominion scored two runs as Brent Sollenberger singled and scored on Eure's grounder and David Villardi singled and later scored on Jared Musolf's grounder. Old Dominion rallied for another run in the ninth but were unable to force across the tying run.
