ODU Leads All C-USA Schools in Latest Learfield Cup Standings
On the heels of a successful wrestling season and 23rd place at the NCAA tournament, Old Dominion leads all Conference USA member schools in the latest Learfield Cup standings.
ODU holds down the 90th position among 254 Division I schools after the completion of the Winter NCAA championships. The Monarchs' six NCAA qualifier performances and 23rd place earned 50.50 points to bring the ODU current total to 125.50. The Monarchs were 75th after the Fall championships, based on strong NCAA showings by the field hockey and men's soccer teams. UTEP is the second highest ranked C-USA school in the latest poll in 106th place.
Stanford remains in first place, with 997.75 total points, followed by Penn State with 792 points.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- ten women’s and ten men’s.
