VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Old Dominion University Head Football Coach Bobby Wilder will participate in the 46th annual Charity Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Landstown High School in Virginia Beach.  The gates will open at 10 a.m. with pregame festivities beginning at 11 a.m. with the game starting at 1:30 p.m.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 46th annual Charity Bowl game. When Dennis Ellmer asked me to play quarterback and to help raise money for this worthy cause I was honored. If we can put a smile on one child's face during the holiday season it will have been worth every second of our efforts,” Wilder said. “The holiday season should be about giving for all of us. This game is all about giving hope to our local children.”

The Toyota Charity Bowl Football Game started in 1968 and is the longest-lasting charity football game in the country. Former NFL All-Pro William Fuller, long-time greats Ed Beard and Bob Windsor and Chesapeake Sheriff Jim O'Sullivan will also play in the game along with Wilder.

Tickets are 10 dollars apiece and funds will benefit numerous local children’s charities, including The Joy Fund, a non-profit which provides toys during the holidays to underprivileged children in Hampton Roads.
