NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University women’s lacrosse head coach Heather Holt has announced that five incoming freshmen will join the program in the fall, comprising the Monarchs’ class of 2018.

The Lady Monarchs welcome Jessi Deluca, Shannon Doolan, Natalie Ledwitz, Kati Maggio and Cydney Tutchton to the program. The class features two defenders, two midfielders and an attacker to help add depth to a team that lost four seniors to graduation.

“This is a critical year for our team. We are entering a new conference and have changed the culture of the program over the last two years. The freshmen class brings the right attitudes, as well as athleticism, that we need to move forward in a positive direction.  Each player, new and returning, understands where we are trying to take this program. We all possess the same passion, determination, and dedication needed to build a stronger and better ODU Women’s Lacrosse Team,” Holt said.

Holt on Jessi: “Jessi is a solid player with an athletic mind set. She is a tough defender with the power and skill that we need within our defensive unit. I know she will be a hard working player, on and off the field, and will help to build and cultivate the positive drive that we are instilling in our program for the future. Jessi’s hard work and determination will only increase at the collegiate level.”
