PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Sean Brooks scored 22 points to lead Drexel to an 82-66 victory over Old Dominion on Wednesday. Drexel(16-8/11-4) remains tied for first with VCU who defeated JMU tonight. The Monarchs(15-9/10-5) drop to third.

With the score, 25-22, Drexel at the 6:39 mark, the Dragons went on a 18-5 tear to finish the first half with a 43-27 lead. The Dragons shot 55 percent in the first half, while ODU was held to just 38 percent and 0-8 from three- point range.

Phil Goss added 16 to surpass the 1,000-point mark for his career. Tim Whitworth contributed 14 points for the Dragons (16-8, 11-4 Colonial Athletic Association).

Alex Loughton scored 16 points to lead the Monarchs (15-9, 10-5).

Troy Nance (Va. Beach, VA.) dished out eight assists, while freshman Valdas Vasylius (Klaipeda, Lithuania) scored 12 points off the bench for the Monarchs.

Goss, who finished 4-for-5 from 3-point range, hit three 3s early in the second half as Drexel increased its lead to 64-39 with 12:31 remaining.

ODU travels to Richmond to play at VCU Saturday night at 7 p.m.
