The Monarchs led 42-26 early in the second half, but the Tigers cut the lead to eight midway through the half. The Monarchs responded with a three-point play by Marsh at 5:06 to make it 56-45 and Towson got no closer than nine the rest of the way.

The Monarchs return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host VCU at 7:35 p.m. That will be 80's night, as part of the "Farwell to the Fieldhouse" series.
