Old Dominion has advanced to the second round of the College Insiders.com Tournament (CIT) and will host a team to be announced on Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. at Norfolk Scope. ODU will play the Spartans of USC Upstate (21-12) from the Atlantic Sun Conference. They beat Kent State in the first roud, 73-58.
"With the Constant Center unavailable for us to host a CIT game due to the NCAA tournament, we are very grateful to Mayor Paul Fraim, John Rhamestine at Scope and the City of Norfolk for working with us on this quick turnaround to host this game," says athletic director Dr. Wood Selig. "I am sure for many of our fans, playing at Scope will bring back memories of many great Monarch victories in that venue. We look forward to a great weekend of basketball in Hampton Roads with the NCAA tournament at the Ted on Saturday and Monday and the Monarchs at Scope on Sunday. "
Tickets are available for purchase at http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0100486DF298C277.by calling 1-800-745-3000, or at the Norfolk Scope box office, which is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. "The City of Norfolk and Scope's staff are delighted to once again be hosting ODU basketball. All of us have great memories of ODU playing their home games here and the stellar record ODU had on our home court. We look forward to seeing old friends and hosting a great game", says John Rhamestine, director of Seven Venues for the City of Norfolk.

This is the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Spartans are members of the Atlantic Sun where they were 13-5 this year. Atlantic Sun teams include: Belmont, Mercer, ETSU, North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb, Jacksonville, Stetson and Kennesaw State.
