NORFOLK, VA-- Kent Bazemore scored a career high 37 points and hauled down 12 rebounds, but CAA leading Drexel hung on for a 73-72 victory over ODU on senior night in front of the fifth home sellout of the season. It was the final regular season home game for seniors Kent Bazemore, Chris Cooper, Trian Iliadis and Marquel De Lancey.

Fellow senior Chris Cooper added 12 points and 11 rebounds for his 16th double-double of the season. Cooper is now tied with Mark West and Odell Hodge for fifth place on the ODU single season double-double list.

Down six, 71-65 with 37 seconds left,Bazemore hit a layup with 22 seconds to cut it to 71-67. After a Drexel turnover Dimitri Batten scored a bucket, was fouled and hit the free throw to cut it to 71-70.

With 10 seconds left Drexel's Chris Fouch then hit two free throws to give the Dragons a three-point lead at 73-70. Bazemore then got a pass from Donte Hill and with 0.7 seconds remaining was fouled while attempting a three-pointer. Bazemore hit the first two, but missed the last one and the contest was over.

Bazemore's 12 rebounds ties a career high he had against William and Mary last year and Delaware earlier this season. He also dished out three assists and came up with two steals.

Monarch freshman Dimitri Batten also scored 12 points along with two steals for the Monarchs.

ODU shot .359 (23-64) from the floor, while the Dragons were .442 (23-52) and .435 (10-23) from three-point range. ODU dominated the boards, outrebounding the CAA's leader in rebound margin by 12, 46-34.

Drexel was led in scoring by freshman Damion Lee with 24 points, while Chris Fouch scored 15, Samme Givens 12 and Frantz Massenat 10. Givens also had 10 rebounds, while Massenat led all with eight assists.

ODU played tonight without senior Trian Iliadis who tore his ACL in his right knee earlier in the week against Georgia State.

With its fifth sellout of the season, ODU finished the regular season averaging 7,682 for 16 homes games, second only to last year's record season of 7,745.
