SERIES VS. JAMES MADISON ODU leads, 39-22. The Monarchs won the last meeting in Harrisonburg, 81-60 on Jan. 14. Alex Loughton led with 26 points and eight rebounds. John Waller scored 18 and Arnaud Dahi added 14 points and seven rebounds. ODU shot .537 from the floor, while the Dukes shot. 359 from the floor. ODU outrebounded JMU, 40-27. Dwayne Broyles led JMU with 19 Points, while Ray Barbosa and Chris Cathlin chipped in with 13 each. JMU last defeated ODU in Norfolk, in 1997-98, 51-46 in Scope.
THIS DAY IN ODU HOOP HISTORY Feb. 11, 1972 ODU defeats Norfolk State, 105-101 in overtime as Ricky Michaelson scored 25 points.
LAST GAME ODU lost at Hofstra Saturday night, 80-79. The Monarchs led the Entire second half until Mike Radziejewski's trey with 31 seconds Left put the Pride up 80-79. Isaiah Hunter led with a career high 28 Points. Alex Loughton scored 14 with seven rebounds and Arnaud Dahi added 12 points and six rebounds. ODU shot .462 for the game (.371 in the second half) and committed 18 turnovers. Hofstra shot .446 for the game. Two of ODU's three losses at Hofstra have been by one point, the other by four.
NOTE *W&M shot .545 from the floor last week. The last ODU opponent to shoot over 50 percent was Charlotte (.562).
*The 19 first half points by UNCW was the lowest by an opponent this year since the 20 scored in the first half by VMI.

John Waller The Richmond, VA., native has 782 career points and 126 career three-point goals, placing him sixth on ODU's all-time trey list.
BREAKFAST RESCHEDULED The men's basketball breakfast originally scheduled for Jan. 30th has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 a.m. in the Big Blue room at the Constant Center. Coach Taylor, and John Castleberry will introduce the sophomore and junior class players. The senior class will be on hand on Feb. 27. RSVP to 683-5696.
Taylor spoke at the Norfolk Sports Club on Monday. He will speak at a sports management class on April 8, the senior breakfast on May 7, and Northside Middle School on June 3.
THREE POINT FIELD GOALS Isaiah Hunter made six of eight treys at Hofstra last Saturday. He joins Keith Jackson ('92), Anthony Carver ('90), Petey Sessoms ('95), Mike Jones ('95) and Mark Poag ('99) who have made six treys in a game. The ODU record is nine set by Mark Poag vs VMI in 1997 and Anthony Carver vs. George Mason in 1989.The CAA individual single game mark is also nine.

ODU TO HOST EIGHT-TEAM THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT Old Dominion University in an agreement between Sports Tours International, and the Ted Constant Convocation Center will host an eight-team basketball tournament Nov. 26-28 in the Constant Center called the "Norfolk Knockout." Sports Tours is responsible for selecting the teams and the pairings for the event. There will be four games each day. The tournament field will be announced at a later date.
ODU BENEFACTOR THEODORE'TED' CONSTANT DIES Ted Constant, a longtime benefactor of Old Dominion University, passed away Jan. 31, as his residence in Virginia Beach, Va. His name has become iconic in Hampton Roads with its attachment to the Ted Constant Convocation Center, the jewel of the campus' still evolving, 75-acre University Village. In honor of the support he provided to ODU, both through scholarships and building funds, Mr. Constant was honored with numerous honorary degrees and awards over the past 20 years.

MONARCH RECRUITING ODU signed 6-5 forward Jason Thompson from Chatham Central High School in Bear Creek, NC. The Yadkin Valley Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore and runner-up last year averaged 21.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last year. He has scored 1,401 career points and hauled in 693 career rebounds. Chatham was 22-5 last year.
