Monarchs Host Virginia State Saturday Night at 7 p.m.

NORFOLK, VA--The Old Dominion University Monarchs host the Trojans of Virginia State University in the final exhibition game, Saturday at 7 p.m. In the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
The Trojans return two starters from last year's squad led by 6-1 senior guard Rodney Henry (11.1) and 6-10 junior center Avis Wyatt (9.5 & 7.3 rpg). VSU is a member of the CIAA.
The Monarchs won their opening exhibition, 82-59 over the University of Saskatchewan. CAA Player of the Year Alex Loughton (Perth, Australia) led with 17 points, while Brian Henderson (Richmond, VA.), Arnaud Dahi (Ivory Coast), and Valdas Vasylius (Klapiedia, Lithuania) each scored 11 points. Dahi led ODU with nine rebounds. The Monarchs shot .47 percent from the floor and hit .813 from the line.
ODU opens the regular season, Nov. 18 in the Paradise Jam against the University of Georgia.
