NACDA Honors Loughton For Third Straight Year

NORFOLK, VA--The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) have selected Old Dominion University's Alex Loughton to its first team I-AAA Scholar Athlete team. This is Loughton's third straight selection by the organization. Last month, he earned third team Academic All-American honors by ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA.
Loughton, who will graduate in May has a 3.40 grade point average in business Marketing. Loughton helped lead ODU to a 24-10 record as the team advanced to the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament.
The 6-9 Perth, Australian native completed his four year career at ODU with 1,642 points, 952 rebounds, and 159 steals. Loughton ranks tenth all-time at ODU in points, sixth in rebounds and eighth in steals. He is the only non-guard in the top ten on ODU's all-time steals list. In the CAA rankings, Loughton is seventh on the all-time rebound list, just one shy of George Mason's George Evans ('01).
