Youngblood Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, VA. (December 13) -- Old Dominion University senior center Skipper Youngblood (Gastonia, NC) was named Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball Player of the Week, after averaging 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in the Monarchs victories over VMI, 71-62 and New Orleans, 65-60.

Against VMI, Youngblood, a 6-8, 245-pounder scored 20 points, pulled down seven rebounds and blocked three shots. Against New Orleans, he scored 11 points and grabbed ten rebounds. In the last two minutes of the game, Youngblood scored five of the Monarchs final eight points.

Through nine games, Youngblood is averaging 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. He ranks third in the CAA in rebounding. The Monarchs host UNC Wilmington Saturday afternoon in the fieldhouse at 2:00 p.m.
