Monarchs Overpower East Tennessee State, 86-65

Loughton had two field goals as Old Dominion (9-1) opened the game with a 14-2 run. The Monarchs maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game. The final score was the largest margin. This is ODU's best start since the 1969-70 season.
Old Dominion outrebounded the Bucs (3-6) 33-22, had 15 steals and blocked seven shots.
Arnaud Dahi hit his first eight shots from the field as he went 8-for-9 on the night. The Monarchs dished out a season high 28 assists as Drew Williamson led with six and Kiah Thomas had five. Freshman Brandon Johnson alos had four assists and four steals.
Tim Smith led ETSU with 18 points. James Anthony scored 15, and Chris Mitchell came off the bench to score 11 on 5-of-7 shooting. ETSU made several runs, cutting the Monarch lead to ten, 57-47 with 12:00 left, but after the timeout, John Morris nailed two straight treys for ODU.
The Monarchs host Longwood on Monday night at 7 p.m.
