Gerald Lee To Play In PIT

NORFOLK, VA-- Gerald Lee will play in this year's Portsmouth Invitational Tournament which begins April 7th at Churcland High School.
He will join 63 other seniors loking to impress NBA and overseas scouts. Lee is scheduled to play in the opening game on April 7 at 7 p.m.
Lee helped lead ODU to a 27-9 record this year. The Monarchs were the regular season and tournament CAA champions and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995 after beating Notre Dame, 51-50 in New Orleans.
During his four years at ODU, the Monarchs advanced to two NCAA Tournament, reached the quarterfinals of the CBI and won the CIT post season title. ODU compiled a 94-44 (.681) record during Lee's four years.
Gerald Lee completed his career with 1,624 career points which rank him 11th all-time at ODU. Lee was 22 points shy of Alex Loughton ('06) who ranks 10th and one point better than Kenny Gattison ('86).He also played an ODU best 137 games, breaking the mark of 135 set last year by Jonathan Adams.
In playing 36 games, Gerald Lee, along with teammates Ben Finney, Frank Hassell, Kent Bazemore, Keyon Carter Darius James and Trian Iliadis now own the new school mark, breaking last year's 35 games. Gerald Lee is the only Monarch to start all 36, breaking Darius James mark of 35 last year.
The 27 wins this season is the second best in school history. The best was the 2005 squad which won 28.
