Sailing Opens Fall Season with Successful Weekend

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University sailing completed a successful opening fall season over the weekend, competing in a pair of events.

The Monarchs hosted the annual Riley Cup on Saturday.  In the division A race, Joseph David and Kaylie Gallagher took a fourth place finish while Gabriel Smith and Cady Johnson finished 10th.

In the B division, Jill Fattibene and Colin Voigt delivered a fourth place finish while Lee Dumaliang and Katelyn Talley place sixth.

At the singlehanded Radial Open in Annapolis, Andrea Luna finished in fifth while Rachel Austin finished in 11th.

The Monarch sailing squad will compete in two more events this coming weekend, the Edward Teach Memorial in Hampton and the Nevins Trophy Race in King’s Point, N.Y.
