Penicheiro Leads Monarchs Past Storm

SACRAMENTO, CA-- Two-Time All-American Ticha Penicheiro ('98) scored 15 points and dished out four assists to lead the defending WNBA champion Sacramento Monarchs to an 87-66 victory over Seattle, coached by Naismith and Women's Basketball Hall of Famer,Anne Donovan ('83).

Penicheiro, who was inducted into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame in April hit seven-for-ten from the field, and came up with three steals on the evening. Sacramento is now 3-1 on the season and Seattle falls to 2-2.

Another Lady Monarch standout Hamchetou Maiga ('02) scored five points off the bench for Sacramento.
