13 OCTOBER 2012 | 3:18 PM Villanova is the final game for Kim Zivkovich by Harry Minium
Old Dominion's homecoming game today against VIllanova is the final home game for ODU associate director of athletic communications Kimberly Zivkovich. For those of you who've never heard of Kim, or don't know what she does for ODU, she is indispensable for the newspaper, television and radio reporters who cover the team. She is responsible for scheduling media interviews with players and coaches, compiling statistics, doing the weekly football press releases, running things in the Foreman Field press box and fielding questions from journalists from early in the morning until late in the evening. Kim and I speak and exchange emails and text messages several times a day. I've called her as late at 10 o'clock at night while frantically looking for an answer to a question. I first met Kim a decade ago while covering basketball at ODU. She's been at the school for 11 years and has always handled her duties with patience and a smile, even when I've kept her in the Foreman Field press box after midnight while I finished blogging after a game. Kim is leaving ODU to return to her home state of New Jersey. She will handle sports information duties for the Rutgers, her alma mater, where will be primarily responsible for the women's basketball team. Kim's last week is next week. She will be replaced by Eric Bohannon, who has plenty of experience at a quality Football Championship Subdivision school. Bohannon came to ODU from Appalachian State in 2010. He's a 2008 graduate of Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. He's been the sports information contact for wrestling, women's soccer and other sports. If you want to wish Kim well, she can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
