NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's lacrosse team drafted 11-year old Hannah Goetz to their team on Tuesday evening in cooperation with Team Impact.
Several members of the team and coaching staff welcomed Hannah and her family to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex and the locker room and held an official "signing day" ceremony followed by an ice cream social and watched highlights of the 2013 season.
Goetz is from Portsmouth and was diagnosed last year with Cystic Fibrosis, the most common life-threatening and chronic lung disease found in children. She has been hospitalized seven times for severely low lung function and coughing and often times has trouble swallowing. Hannah enjoys playing soccer.
