Lacrosse Hosts George Mason for Senior Night on Friday

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's lacrosse team closes out their home slate on Friday evening as they host George Mason at 7 p.m. on Senior Night at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
Old Dominion (3-12, 1-4) will look to snap their eight-game losing streak on Friday night as they host George Mason on senior night. The Lady Monarchs dropped a heartbreaking 8-7 decision at Delaware last Friday and then dropped a 16-9 contest at Towson on Sunday.
Sophomore midfielder Ashmore Standing leads the offense with 31 goals and four assists while junior attacker Emily Austerberry and sophomore midfielder Christina Rea have each poured in 24 goals apeice. Senior attacker Meredith Rogers has scored 13 goals and added a team-high nine assists. Defensively, junior Kallie McCormick has caused 19 turnovers and scooped up 26 groundballs while senior Alexandra Burns has 31 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers. Sophomore goalkeeeper Karen Hayde has 126 saves while allowing 211 goals.
George Mason (5-9, 0-5) is coming off an 18-7 setback at Hofstra last Sunday. The Patriots have dropped their last five contests (all CAA games). They have wins in the non-conference over Bucknell, American, Martist, Liberty and High Point with losses to Longwood, Brown, George Washington and Albany.
Offensively, junior midfielder Rachel Obregon powers the way with 30 goals and a pair of assists while senior attacker Allie Hilderbrandt adds 27 goals, four assists and a team-high 29 draw controls. Senior midfielder Caitlin Formato chips in 18 goals and a team-best five assists. Defenisvely, freshman Erin Anderson has a team-high 12 causted turnovers with 15 groundballs. In goal, freshman Caroline Brouse has allowed 98 goals with 76 saves while senior Brittany Pastrana has allowed 74 goals with 57 saves as they split time.
ODU holds a 15-9 advantage in the all-time series with Mason. The Patriots stunned the Lady Monarchs last year in Fairfax, 9-7. Before that, ODU defeated GMU by just a single goal in three consecutive years. In their last meeting in Norfolk in 2011, Old Dominion won, 10-9.
