Swimming And Diving Hosts UNC-Wilmington On Saturday

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Monarch and Lady Monarch swimmers return to the pool for the first time in 2009 taking on UNC-Wilmington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday utilizing Norfolk State's pool facilities as the Old Dominion pool remains closed with construction continuing on the new recreational facility on campus.
The Old Dominion's men's squad enters Saturday's competition with a 5-0 overall mark having won its last 15 meets dating back to last season as well as a fourth place finish at the Davidson Invitational.
The Seahawk men's team comes to Norfolk with a 5-1 mark and ranked 13th in the CollegeSwimming.Com Mid-Major Poll. UNC-Wilmington also placed second at the Patriot Invitational in November.
Last season, Old Dominion edge out the Seahawks during the season, 153-147, but UNC-Wilmington would go on to claim its seventh Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title. UNC-Wilmington finished first with 702 points, while the Monarchs placed second with 586 points.
The Old Dominion women's team enters the pool with a 3-6 mark, with victories over Northeastern and Drexel.
The UNC-Wilmington women's squad currently posts a 4-3 mark along with a second place finish at the Patriot Invitational in November. The Seahawks are ranked 17th in the CollegeSwimming.Com Mid-Major Poll.
