Arni Arnason Earns Fourth CAA Weekly Award

RICHMOND, Va. -- Old Dominion's Arni Arnason (Mosfellsbaer, Iceland) has been selected CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week for the fourth time this season it was announced on Tuesday by the conference office.
Arnason raced to three individual wins to lift the Monarchs to a 6-2 record in dual action after taking two of three at Saturday's quad meet at George Mason, where they bested American and Mason and were narrowly edged by Army by a mere three points.
Arnason clocked a time of 45.32 for a first-place finish in the 100 free and followed suit in the 200 portion of the event with a time of 1:40.61, which was just off the league's top time this season. The Monarch junior also paced the field in the 200 breast with a time of 2:03.04 and swam the second leg of the winning 200 medley relay squad.
Arnason and the Monarchs close the door on their dual slate when they host NC State this Saturday, Jan. 29th at noon at the J.C. "Scrap" Chandler Pool in the Student Recreation Center.
