NORFOLK, VA -- The ODU swim team came home with its first victory of the season last Saturday with a win at George Washington University. Contributing 18 points apiece were sophomore divers Peter Stickl and Jasmine Moore.
Moore has been the leading diver for the women's team since her first collegiate start more than a year ago. Moore tallied 222.75 points in the 1 meter and 255.60 points in the 3 meter to take first place in both events. Moore continues to get better and better with every dive she takes at the collegiate level. Her efforts against GWU were personal bests at ODU.
Stickl, under the direction of former ODU star Nate Tschohl, obliterated his personal records in both events with a 254.70 effort in the one meter and a 244.58 showing in the three meter. Stickl is being asked to be the star for the ODU dive team with the loss of Tschohl and national qualifier Noah Scully.
Stickl and Moore were joined by swimmers of the week from Delaware, Andrew Zinn and Maryann Walker.
The Monarchs are not in action again until the new year when they head to Harrisonburg, Virginia to face off against James Madison University and Howard University in a Tri-Meet. The meet is scheduled for January 20 and will begin at 1:00 pm.
