NORFOLK, Va. -- Senior Patrik Balint was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Swimmer of the Week after helping the Monarchs improve to 9-0 on the year with wins in last weekend's quad-meet with Army, American, and CAA rival Georgia State. It is the second time this season Balint has earned the weekly honor.

Balint, a senior from Budapest, Hungary, won three individual events as well as a victory with the 400 free relay squad. Balint edged out the competition in the 200 free clocking in at 1:42.52 as well as the 100 back with a time of 52.10. He also took the top time in the 500 free with a 4:41.67, his fastest time of the season, the second fastest time in the event by a Monarch this year, and the seventh fastest in the CAA this season. Balint joined Johan Lundberg, Kristofer Haff, and Chad Gangwer on the winning 400 free relay team with a 3:12.18, the third fastest time by the squad this season.

The Old Dominion swimming and diving teams return to action on Friday, February 1st in their final meet before the CAA Championships as the Monarchs and Lady Monarchs travel to William & Mary.
