NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion rowing's Varsity Eight was named the Conference USA Boat of the Week for their outstanding performance this past weekend at the Knecht Cup.
ODU won both the heat and the semifinal races on the first day of the Knecht Cup, then came back the next day and finished third to win the bronze medal.

OLD DOMINION VARSITY 8
The Old Dominion Varsity Eight went 2-0 on the first day of the 2014 Knecht Cup in West Windsor Township, N.J., and finished with a bronze medal in the Grand Final on April 13. The crew of sophomore coxswain Lydia Cleveland, freshman Kennedy Stafford, freshman Erin O'Connell, senior Paige Madison, sophomore Jenna Sterling, freshman Kara Stephan, sophomore Raven Howser, sophomore Marisa Fruetel and junior Kelsea Shiner finished the course in 6:50.75, while beating Boston College, Tulsa, Drexel and other schools to finish third overall. The V8 won both the heat and the semifinals on Saturday, posting times of 6:55.50 and 6:51.61 at Mercer Lake. This is the first C-USA Boat of the Week honor for the Monarchs.
