Women's Rowing Hits the Road for Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's rowing team will be competing in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday, October 27 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This will be the first road competition for the Lady Monarchs of the 2012 fall season. Races are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.; however, Old Dominion's first race will not begin until 8:30 a.m. ODU will participate in eight different events throughout the day.
There are 522 different crews scheduled to race at the Head of Schuylkill on Saturday. The Lady Monarchs final event will take place at 2:40 p.m.
Last year the Lady Monarchs were only able to race in two events at the Head of Schuylkill, as weather cancelled the remaining regattas.
Old Dominion concluded last season with the Varsity Four earning third place medals at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, while the Varsity and Frosh/Novice Four reached the Grand Finals of the Knecht Cup. Also, the Varsity and Junior Varsity Eight took second at the Occoquan Sprints.
