NORFOLK, Va. -- Take a peek at the nearly completed home of ODU women's rowing team. Work is almost complete at the brand-new, state-of-the art ODU Rowing Center and the keys are getting ready to be handed over to the team shortly.
Located on the north side of Lakewood Park on the Lafayette River, just minutes from campus, the rowing center is a two-story, 13,000 square foot, boathouse facility that will house the Lady Monarchs rowing program.
Take a look at the gallery which shows fans the two heated bays on the first floor with storage space for approximately eight eights, six fours and over 12 pair/doubles and singles. Also see photos of the team locker room that will accommodate up to 60 student-athletes, the coaches' offices, and team lounge/study area with a flat screen television and wireless internet access getting ready to be installed. The training area is also getting ready to be moved into with enough space for 40 rowing machines and other training equipment will also make up the second level.
Stay tuned to ODUSports.com in the following weeks as head coach Dan Garbutt will give a video tour of the Lady Monarchs' new facility.
