HAMPTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion wrestling team (4-6, 1-3 MAC) topped Campbell, 19-16, Saturday morning at the Hampton Coliseum to finish 3-1 at the 2017 Virginia Duals. In a rematch from the 2016 NCAA Championships, Jack Dechow cruised to a 6-3 win over Ville Heino to finish 4-0 on the weekend.

Campbell struck first with a quick pin from nationally-ranked Nathan Kraisser at 125 and a 12-1 major decision from Jonathan Ryan at 133, but ODU freshman Kevin Budock used a takedown in the tiebreaker to defeat Josh Heil at 141 to get the Monarchs rolling.

Michael Hayes improved to 3-1 on the weekend with a controlling 9-5 win at 149, while Seldon Wright and Antonio Agee both pulled out narrow one-point victories at 165 and 174, respectively. Agee's win, which ultimately proved to be the difference in the dual meet, came via a go-ahead takedown with five seconds remaining on the clock.

After Dechow used two takedowns and an escape to top NCAA qualifier Ville Heino, 6-3, at 184, Kevin Beazley racked up nearly six minutes of riding time on his way to a 14-1 major decision at 197 to put the Monarchs up 19-13 heading into the final bout.

At 285, Campbell's Jere Heino picked up a 7-2 win over Will Hilliard, but the Monarchs prevailed, 19-16.
