COLLEGE PARK, MD-- Despite three goals from All-American Suzanne Wosczyna (Phoenixville, PA.), seventh ranked Maryland defeated 20th ranked ODU, 18-7 Saturday afternoon. The Terps were led by Kelly Coppedge with six goals and two assists. ODU is 2-2 and Maryland is now 5-2.

Coppedge put the Terps up 1-0 at the 29:06 mark of the first half, but two minutes later Melody Shotwell (Fairfax, Station, VA.) tied the game with an unassisted goal. The Terps then scored five straight goals before Janine Rodriguez (Davidsonville, MD.) put in ODU's second goal. UM led, 7-2 at halftime.

Wosczyna, ODU's all-time scorer netted all three of her goals and an assist in the second half. Rodriguez scored two goals on the day and Caroline Jacobs (Gaithersburg, MD.) added The other Lady Monarch goal.

ODU was 11-21 in clear attempts against the Terps tough defense. the Lady Monarchs return to action on Friday, March 26 when they host Temple at 3:00 in Foreman Field.
