PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Meredith Rogers scored with 21 seconds remaining in the game to give Old Dominion University women's lacrosse a thrilling 11-10 win over St. Joseph's Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Old Dominion took a 10-8 lead on a Lisa Bernardini goal in which the ODU junior made a nice spin move to shake free from two defenders with seven minutes remaining, but St. Joe's (3-4) scored twice, the second with just over two minutes left in the game, to tie the score at 10.

With under a minute left, Rebecca Hartrum sent a pass from the right into the middle to Rogers who drive the net and fired a shot past the Hawks goalie into the bottom corner of the net for the game-winner.

St. Joe's got the ball into the ODU zone, but Courtney Johnson took a charge with seven seconds remaining to stop the threat and seal the win.

The Hawks started out fast, getting out to a 6-3 lead in the first 17 minutes of the game behind two goals apiece from Jen Peters and Grace Dinn.

The Lady Monarchs fought back scoring four goals in the final 13 minutes, two from Bernardini and one from Sarah Wright with just 17 seconds left in the half to take a 7-6 lead into the break.

ODU continued its momentum coming out of the break, with Bernardini and Hartrum scoring unassisted goals to push the lead to 7-6.
