Tiffany Snow Honored By Portsmouth Sports Club

Portsmouth, VA -- Senior Lady Monarch field hockey member Tiffany Snow (Escondido, CA) was named the 2002 Portsmouth Sports Club Female Collge Athlete of the Year on February 26th at the club's 57th annual jamboree.

Snow's culminated a great career at Old Dominion by winning the Honda Award as the nation's most outstanding field hockey player. This past season, she tied for second in the nation in points, second in the nation in goals scored, and 11th in Division I play in assists. Defensively, she led the Lady Monarchs to six shutouts and recorded a team-best three defensive saves.

Snow was named First Team All-American and First Team All-South Region for the second straight year. In addition, she was the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year and the CAA Tournament's Most Valuable Player.

This past season, Snow helped her squad to Old Dominion's seventh straight and 11th overall conference title and the team participated in their 22nd straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 15th "Final Four."

Snow finished her career ranked sixth on the Old Dominion all-time goals leader list with 71 career goals and sixth on the all-time points leaders list with 182.

A native of Escondido, California where she was a three-sport standout in high school, she captained her field hockey team to a state championship.

Snow will graduate in June with a degree in health and physical education and become a Lady Monarch not soon forgotten.
