NORFOLK, VA -- The top ranked Old Dominion field hockey team closes out the regular season with home matches against #14 Princeton and #8 North Carolina this weekend. The regular season finale against North Carolina will be the annual scholarship game with the $5.00 admission to benefit field hockey scholarships at Old Dominion.

The Lady Monarchs will be looking to make it 2-0 against the 14th ranked Tigers (8-5) tonight at 6:00 p.m. In their last meeting, Old Dominion took home a 4-1 victory led by senior Becky Loy (Loysville, PA) and her two goals. Senior Katie Moyer (Va. Beach, VA) added a goal and an assist, while Angie Loy (Loysville, PA) and Tiffany Snow (Escondido, CA) each reached the back of the net as well.

On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., the Lady Monarchs will be looking to avenge an earlier 0-2 loss to the #8 North Carolina Tar Heels (9-8). North Carolina was just one of two teams to shutout Old Dominion this season and just one of three teams to hand the Lady Monarchs a loss.

Besides Saturday being the annual scholarship game and regular season finale, it will also mark the final regular home game for six Lady Monarch seniors. Katie Moyer, Tiffany Snow, Tara Herrmann, Becky Loy, Marybeth Freeman, and Denita Acker will be honored for their time in the Lady Monarch uniform just prior to the opening whistle. These six seniors have combined for over 75 wins and have captured four CAA championships and the 2000 NCAA National Title.
