Old Dominion Falls at No. 44 Virginia Tech, 5-2

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (6-3) fell to No. 44 nationally ranked Virginia Tech (7-2) by a 5-2 score at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Saturday. ODU has won five of its last seven matches.

Reigning C-USA Player of the Week, No. 68 Holly Hutchinson improved to 6-1 on the season after downing Elena Cerezo-Codina (VT) 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in No. 2 singles.

Also picking up a victory in singles action for Old Dominion was Eliska Petrackova, who was too much for Sansitha Nandakumar (6-2, 6-4).

ODU will return to action on Thursday, March 2, when the Lady Monarchs take on No. 10 nationally ranked Baylor in Waco at 6:00 p.m. Then on Friday, March 3, Old Dominion will battle Conference USA foe North Texas at 4:00 p.m. in Denton.
