NORFOLK, Va. -
The Old Dominion University men's swimming team sent eight swimmers to compete in the Cavalier Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. Over the past two days, Brian Burns, Logan Teal, Ty Collins, Adam Scimeca, Brian Fischetti, Preston Dunham, TJ Ewer and Chris Prewitt were responsible for Old Dominion's resilient third place finish at the tournament hosted by the University of Virginia.

The Monarchs' eight swimmers finished ahead of host-UVA, as well as the ACC's-Duke and CAA foe-Drexel.

Brian Burns finished the 100 fly in second place with a time of 50.92, which was fingertip behind Jacob Bieze's (Duke) winning time of 50.20. Burns also placed sixth in the 1000 free (46.62) and seventh in the 50 free (21.64).

Ty Collins finished just behind Prewitt in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.34, which was good enough for a sixth place finish.

Logan Teal placed fifth in the 500 free (4:43.07) and the 1650 free (16:44.45). Teal also placed eighth in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.40.

TJ Ewer finished in seventh in the 200 breast with a time of 2:21.33. Ewer also placed third in the consolation race of the 200 IM and the 100 breast.

Brian Fischetti won the 200 IM and the 100 breast consolation races. Fischetti also placed third in the consolation of the 100 back.

Adam Scimeca won the 1000 free consolation race, as well as finished second in the consolation races for the 50 free and the 100 fly.

Brian Fischetti, TJ Ewer, Preston Dunham and Logan Teal teamed-up to take the bronze medal in the 400 medley relay (3:37.36).
